E-commerce Email Scored on Revenue Per Send
Email is the channel where retail personas monetize fastest. The audience is already yours, the feedback loop is days not months, and the revenue is directly attributable.
Book a demoWhy most retail email underperforms
- Lifecycle stage is not a segment. "New subscriber" and "lapsed" describe funnel position, not motivation. A loyalist and a discount-hunter at the same stage need opposite messages.
- Open rate flatters. A strong open rate on a send that produced no revenue looks like success on a dashboard and like nothing on the P&L.
- Discounting erodes your best customers. Sending promotions to people who convert at full price trains them to wait, and signals that the quality claim was inflated.
- Behavioral segmentation is too manual to maintain. Which is why most teams default to lifecycle stage and leave the richest signal in the data unused.
Segments from purchase behavior, copy written for each
Triangul8 clusters your list by how people actually buy - frequency, value, discount sensitivity, category affinity, time between orders - then writes campaign and flow copy for those segments and scores every send on revenue per send.
What you get
Behavioral segments, kept current
Derived from purchase and engagement data across your stack, re-cut automatically as your customer base shifts rather than rebuilt by hand each quarter.
Copy per persona, not per send
Subject lines, preview text, and body written for the specific segment receiving them, so one campaign becomes several genuinely different messages.
Revenue per send as the standard
Drafts are scored against the metric that survives a finance review, before they go out rather than explained after.
Discount discipline
Full-price loyalists stop receiving margin-eroding promotions; threshold buyers get the offer they're actually waiting for.
Lifecycle flows that stay current
Welcome, replenishment, win-back, abandonment, and post-purchase sequences refreshed against who is actually in them now.
Drafts into Klaviyo
Approved sends land in your ESP as drafts for review. Nothing deploys automatically.
Email, answered
How is this different from the segmentation already in Klaviyo?
ESP segmentation is rule-based - you define conditions and maintain them. Triangul8 derives segments from behavioral clustering across your full customer dataset, including sources outside the ESP, and refreshes them automatically. The practical difference is discovering segments you wouldn't have thought to define.
What is revenue per send and why score on it?
Attributable revenue divided by emails delivered. It accounts for engagement and monetization in one number, which is why it holds up under scrutiny in a way open rate doesn't. A send with a lower open rate and higher revenue per send is the better send.
Does Triangul8 send emails automatically?
No. Approved content lands in your ESP as drafts or paused campaigns and a person makes the final call to deploy. There is no setting that removes the approval gate.
How large does my list need to be?
Clustering needs roughly 250 matched customers per segment to be statistically meaningful. Smaller lists still work with broader segments - content quality improves either way, and segmentation granularity scales with list size.
Does it write automated flows or just campaigns?
Both. Flows are often where persona targeting produces the clearest lift, because they run continuously against a defined behavioral trigger - which means improvements compound rather than applying to a single send.
What email platforms are supported?
Klaviyo is directly integrated bidirectionally: engagement data flows in to sharpen personas, approved campaigns flow back out as drafts. Other ESPs connect by API or flat file.
